TOM BIRD'S WRITER'S ROUNDTABLE

February, 2007 Newsletter

Welcome to all of those who just joined Tom’s newsletter list from his most recent classes at Scottsdale CC, Paradise Valley CC, Emory University and The University of New Mexico. If at any time you have any good news or comments you would like to share, please don’t hesitate doing so through either submitting the material directly to me at the below address or by dropping it onto Tom’s blog, which can be accessed through is website.

Good News

As most of you already know, we have been experimenting with the sharing of good news from Tom’s students with you through regular emails. Not only is it a great pleasure for us to do this, but we also felt it would continually encourage all of you to keep moving along on your literary path.

Just recently, we have decided to switch the listings of the good news listings to Tom’s blog, which again can be accessed through his website. We decided to do this because: 1) Tom then would be able to become more actively involved in the correspondences; 2) we wouldn’t be overloading your mailboxes on a weekly basis; and 3) we are expecting that the use of Tom’s blog in this manner would encourage an invaluable interaction between all of you.

So from now on, just click onto Tom’s website to access his blog and read away.

In regard to the sharing of your good news, you can either send it to me and I will then run it by Tom and then post it. Or, you can just post it onto the blog yourself.

Either way, keep that good news coming. It invigorates all of us.

Book Publicity Retreat
Tom’s latest Book Publicity Retreat, which was offered in Sedona at the beginning of this month, was a huge success. He and his co-presenter, Joanne McCall, worked so well together that Tom has decided to bring her back for another retreat in September. We are still working on the exact dates, but you can tentatively plan on the second or third weekend. I’ll keep you posted and let you know as soon as we have firmed up anything. If you haven’t taken this retreat, you don’t want to miss this one.

The Next Releasing Your Author Within Retreat

Want to finally get started on that book of yours or to finish one you have already started? If so, Tom’s Releasing Your Author Within Retreat may just be what you need. The dates for the next one are rapidly approaching. Some info on the retreat follows. You may want to pay special attention to the generous discounts offered to Tom’s former students and to those who sign up early.

“Releasing the Author Within”
Retreat Specifically designed for the would-be author to finally get started on that long awaited book, this retreat focuses on the hands-on application of Tom’s amazing methods. Students attending this retreat walk away with a thorough and practical knowledge of how to connect with their Authors Within; complete at least the first tenth of their books (which is normally the most challenging portion); and have their query letters completed and ready to be submitted to prospective agents. In fact, as part of this retreat, your query letters are actually submitted to literary agents for you.

Tom offers generous discounts for returning students, retreat attendees, IIWC candidates, and those who register and sign up early. The full price of this retreat ($695) is quickly reduced if you are an IIWC candidate by $200 (down to $495); returning retreat attendees by $150 (down to $545) or if you are one of his returning students by $100 (down to $595). If you register and pay for this retreat one month in advance, you can also reduce your price by an additional $100. Please note that the class size of these retreats are limited to preserve individual instruction.
